Description

This pair of early 19th-century buildings, numbers 11 and 12 St Mary’s Hill, were constructed using a similar design and materials to the nearby Municipal Offices. They are built of coursed rubble with a hipped roof covered in stone slates. The buildings are three storeys high and feature a modillion cornice and parapet. Each building has six windows with flat-arched surrounds, keystones, and stone rusticated architraves. They contain double-hung sash windows with glazing bars. One building has two windows and an early 20th-century shop front. A six-panel door is located on the right-hand side, topped with a "Gothic" glazed fanlight and a stone arch with keystone. A single stone chimney stack is centrally positioned. Numbers 8, 9, and numbers 11 to 16 form a notable group.
