Description

Church Cottages are a pair of estate cottages built around 1840 to 1845 by William Burn. They are constructed from ashlar stone and feature slate roofs. The cottages have raised stone coped gables with moulded kneelers and a distinctive group of four octagonal ridge stacks with cornices. The building is single storey plus attics and has a four-bay front. It includes two advanced rectangular bays that have three-light mullioned windows and hipped stone roofs, which are flanked by single fixed lights. Above these bays, there are two-light through eaves gabled dormer windows. The cottages are included in the listing for their group value.
