Description

Manor Farm Cottages and Dairy is a pair of cottages with an attached dairy, built around 1880, possibly by Sir Arthur Blomfield. The cottages are constructed from coursed ironstone rubble with ashlar quoins and feature decorative tile hanging on the first floor. They have plain tiled roofs with wooden bargeboards. The dairy has a conical roof topped with an octagonal louvred section, which is covered by a swept lead roof supported on free-standing posts.

The cottages are two stories high with two bays, and the first floor is corbelled out on carved wooden brackets. There are two canted bay windows with plain casements on the first floor, along with three-light glazing bar casements. The dairy is octagonal and connects to the semi-detached cottages via a single-storey link block. The dairy's roof extends over the stone walls, creating a covered walkway around it, and features a single three-light glazing bar casement and a wide opening on one side. Sir Arthur Blomfield also designed the now-demolished Denton Hall in Denton Park for the Welby family.
