Description

Nos 1 to 3 St George's Street is a building dating from 1671, primarily constructed in the mid-18th century. It is mainly two storeys high and built of ashlar with a stone slate roof and rusticated quoins. The elevation facing St George's Street features three windows with shouldered moulded surrounds and triple keystones, fitted with replaced hung sashes that include glazing bars. There is a moulded dentil eaves cornice that is interrupted by a small pediment above a cartouche. A modern five-window extension has been added in a similar style. The High Street elevation has a one-window section that mirrors the design, with a left-hand section featuring two gables and containing two-light 19th-century windows. On the first floor, there are two 8-light 19th-century transom and mullion windows. This building forms a group with Nos 41, 42, 44, and 45 St Paul's Street.
