Description

This is a two-storey building with attics, comprising numbers 41 and 42 St Paul’s Street. It dates from 1671 and is constructed of ashlar. The building is of the early 18th century and features a good moulded stone cornice and a small parapet. The roof is covered in stone slates, with three dormers, two of which are gabled, one featuring a moulded segmental hood. The windows are sash windows with glazing bars. The front of the building incorporates block rusticated quoins and a band between the two storeys, along with a plinth. The building has two six-panel doors with rectangular glazed fanlights; number 42 also includes a shop window that matches the design of the ground floor windows. The roof is hipped and covered in stone slates. Numbers 41 and 42, together with numbers 44 and 45 St Paul’s Street, form a group with numbers 1 to 3 St George’s Street.
