Description

The pigeoncote at Chestnuts Farm dates from the 17th century and is constructed from coursed limestone rubble with ashlar quoins. It features raised stone coped gables and a pantile roof, which has a later timber boarded dovecote located on the ridge. Remnants of a moulded string course are visible at each end of the structure. The roof was replaced in the 19th century. Inside, the pigeoncote contains pigeon boxes situated above the first floor level.
