Description
No. 12 West Street is a well-proportioned house from the mid-18th century, standing three storeys tall and constructed of red brick with stone rusticated quoins. It features a stone plinth and a modern concrete tile roof, along with a brick eaves cornice. The façade includes three windows set in plain reveals and a central six-panel door, which has its original knocker and is topped by a semi-circular glazed fanlight. The doorcase is designed in a plain Roman Doric style, supported by three-quarter columns and featuring an open pediment, with two steps leading up to it. There is a later extension at the rear of the house. Inside, the interior boasts modern 'Tudor' beams and decoration. This building is part of a group that includes Nos. 6 to 18 (even) and the Baptist Chapel.
