Description

This group of six table tombs, dating from the late 18th century to the early 19th century, is located to the west of the church tower. They are constructed from limestone ashlar.

The two tombs on the right include one for Irance Green, who died in 1787, and another for Sarah Green, who died in 1781. Both feature flat rectangular moulded tops and panelled sides, with narrow projecting, panelled vertical bands at each corner and moulded bases.

To the left are two more tombs. The right one has an illegible inscription, while the left one belongs to Mary Digby, who died in 1792. These tombs have flat moulded tops with semi-circular ends and semi-circular panelled sides. The right tomb has moulded baluster-type columns at the corners, while the left features fluted pilasters at the corners and an oval set in a rectangular panel on the north side, adorned with foliate motifs in each corner and flanked by narrow panels containing classical urns, horned sheep skulls, and palms.

The two tombs furthest to the left include one for Elizabeth Green, who died in 1846, and another for John Green, who died in 1829. Both have panelled sides with panelled pilasters at the corners. The right tomb has a flat moulded top, while the left has a gently pointed top.
