Description
This is a farmhouse located to the east of Gladstone Villas, dating from the early 18th century, with later additions from the mid 18th century, late 19th century, and 20th century. The building is constructed of coursed limestone rubble, with some red brick at the rear and some areas rendered. It features a steeply pitched plain tiled roof, with pantiles on a low extension at the rear, stone-coped gables, gable stacks, and a broad axial ridge stack. There is a 20th-century dormer window at the rear.
The house is two storeys high with an attic and has a four-bay rendered front. To the right, there is a mid-18th-century doorway framed by fluted Ionic pilasters, an entablature, a modillioned pediment, a traceried fanlight, fielded panelling, and a deep-set panelled door. To the right of the doorway is a single window, and to the left are two windows. Above, there are four additional windows. All the windows are late 19th-century three-light casements with ashlar lintels featuring faintly scored keystones.
