Description
Casthorpe Lodge is a farmhouse, now a house, dating from around 1770, with alterations made in the mid-19th century and mid-20th century. It is constructed of coursed squared stone and brick, topped with glazed pantile and concrete tile roofs. The building features a single ridge and two gable stacks made of white brick, quoins, and rebated eaves. It stands two storeys high and has a three-window range in an L-plan layout. The front openings are adorned with stone flat arches, including three 16-pane sash windows. There is a central mid-20th century flat-roofed porch with a half-glazed door and a window on either side, which covers a mid-19th century half-glazed door and reveals the overlight. To the side, there are single 12-pane sash windows. The rear wing has two red brick ridge stacks and its windows, mainly dating from around 1800, feature segmental arches.
