Description
Garden Lodge Cottage is a former house that has been reduced to a cottage. It dates from the late 17th century and has undergone alterations in the 19th and 20th centuries. The building is constructed of coursed limestone rubble with ashlar quoins, a red brick gable, and a Collyweston slate roof, featuring two yellow brick gable stacks.
The cottage is two storeys high with a two-bay front. The central door has been blocked off, and to the right, there is a single glazing bar casement and a two-light glazing bar casement. On the first floor, there are two similar two-light windows. All windows have segmental stone arched heads. The right gable shows blocked doorways on both the ground and first floors, indicating the presence of vanished rooms. To the left, there is a single-storey, two-bay service wing with a slate roof, which has two two-light casements under timber lintels. This building is included for its group value only.
