Description
This building is a threshing barn located opposite Spring Farmhouse, dating from the late 17th century and remodeled in the early 19th century. It is constructed from limestone rubble and ashlar, with some red brick elements. The barn features a pantile roof with brick-decorated eaves and has a single storey with a garret on the right side, which is raised on a high plinth.
A large opening with a wooden lintel and a segmental head leads to double plank doors. There is a clear masonry break to the right and a slit air vent. To the left, an early 19th-century lean-to projects, featuring quoins and a low red brick band, although its opening has been blocked with red brick. A plank door is located in the west return. There is a bay set back to the left with a plank door and a shuttered opening above, both having segmental heads. Additionally, a lower bay to the left has a small shuttered opening with a segmental head, and the east gable end includes a shuttered opening on the first floor. This barn is included in the listing for its group value.
