Description

No. 4 St Mary’s Place is a late 18th-century building of three storeys and attics, constructed in ashlar. The roof is covered in stone slates and features two stone stacks at the gable ends. There are three cambered dormers, each with double-hung sashes and glazing bars. The building has five windows on each floor, also with double-hung sashes and glazing bars, with a band continuing as cills. A stone plinth is present. The central double door consists of six panels, protected by a 19th-century wooden hood with a dentil cornice supported by brackets. An inset foot scraper is positioned at the base. No. 4, along with Nos. 1 to 4 (consec), forms a group with the Town Hall and the Church of St Mary.
