Description
The Bull Inn and N. L. Sandall and Sons is a public house and shop located on the north side of Market Place in Market Deeping. It dates from the early 17th century and has been altered in the early 18th century, 19th century, and 20th century. The building is constructed of ashlar stone with a Collyweston slate roof, featuring one raised stone coped gable, a single moulded ashlar gable stack, a single brick ridge stack, and a yellow brick gable stack.
The structure is L-shaped and has two storeys with an irregular six-bay front. It includes a plain plinth, a planked 19th-century door with a plain overlight and a narrow flat lead hood. To the left, there is an open semi-circular moulded 18th-century carriage arch leading to the rear, which has cyma moulded imposts and double planked doors. To the left of the entrance is a 20th-century shop front and door, which is slightly angled. On the right side, there are three glazing bar sash windows, and on the first floor, there are five similar windows. Inside, the left side of the passage to the rear features a single wall post, and the interior retains chamfered beams.
