Description

A shop with a house above, built in the early 19th century. The building is constructed from coursed squared limestone rubble with ashlar quoins and dressings. It has a collyweston slate roof with single ridge and gable stacks made of yellow brick, featuring moulded ashlar cornices.

The two-storey plus attic building has a four-bay front with plain plinths and a moulded stone string course. An eaves cornice made of wood, with two pairs of brackets, runs along the top. There are two half-glazed doors, one with a bordered overlight, each set within eared wooden architraves topped with keyblocks. To the left of the doors are two shop windows: one is a tripartite plain sash window, and the other is a fixed two-light window, both with wooden architraves and lead canopy boxes. The first floor has two glazing bar sashes, each with a moulded stone architrave and raised keyblock. The roof incorporates two gabled dormers, each containing a two-light casement window with slate cheeks.
