Description
Nos 1 and 2 Castle Street are early 19th-century buildings located on the south side of Castle Street, dating from 1671. They are two storeys tall, constructed from coursed rubble with an old slate roof. The buildings feature two brick chimneys at the gable ends and stone quoins. The three windows have stone rusticated surrounds and stone lintels, with double-hung sashes that include glazing bars. The door is made up of six panels and has a rectangular fanlight above it, also with glazing bars. There are two modern shop windows added to the front. Nos 1 to 3, which are occupied by the Central Press, along with No 5, form a group.
