Description
Nos 15 and 17 North Street are buildings dating from the 16th or 17th century, with alterations made in the 18th century. They are constructed of colour-washed rubble with brick voussoirs. The buildings feature a pitched roof, with the upper part covered in tiles and the lower part in stone slate. The gable ends are coped and supported by kneelers. At the north end, there is a projecting chimney breast with three stone-slated batters and a red brick stack. The structures are two storeys high with attics and have a brick modillioned eaves cornice. There are four ranges of cased sash windows with glazing bars, along with one blocked window on the first floor. The ground floor includes a 19th-century shop window with diagonal match boarding at the plinth and ornamental iron cresting above the fascia. There is also one modern glazed door and one modern bow shop front with glazing bars. Nos 5 to 17 (odd) form a group.
