Description
Nos 5 and 6 Maiden Lane are two-storey buildings that likely date from the late 16th century or early 17th century. They are constructed from coursed rubble and feature a modern stone slate roof. The façade includes two bays, each with five-light gabled windows on the first floor, while the ground floor has been rebuilt and now flanks a modern door with a wooden lintel. The original five-light mullions remain on the first floors, and No 5 has hung sash windows on the ground floor. To the left, there is a modern rusticated quoin, and the side has been rebuilt. An archway with moulded human mask terminals, which was brought from No 46 High Street, is incorporated at the rear. Nos 2, 3, and 5 to 10 Maiden Lane form a group.
