Description

This is an early 19th-century building on the south side of St Mary’s Street. It comprises three storeys and incorporates Nos 37 to 39. The exterior is of coursed rubble stone with rusticated quoins. A modillion eaves cornice runs along the top. There are nine windows, each with a rusticated architrave and double-hung sashes containing glazing bars. The window cills are aligned by a continuous band. Modern shop fronts have been added to Nos 37 and 38. No 39 retains a 19th-century shop front featuring plain pilasters and a pair of panelled and glazed doors. Nos 27 to 40 form a cohesive group.
