Description

The Gables is a farmhouse built in 1692, with alterations made in the 19th and 20th centuries. It features rough cast rendered brick and stucco quoins, topped with a steeply pitched slate roof that has coped gables. There are two gable stacks. The front of the building is two storeys high and has three bays, with rusticated stucco quoins. Each floor has two margin light sash windows with splayed lintels and keystones. Between the first-floor windows, there is a blocked opening. On the left-hand gable stack, there is an inscribed datestone that reads "BRE 1692". The rear range has 20th-century windows.
