Description

No 12 on High Street is a building dating from 1746, designed by architect William Sands. It is constructed of local brick and features two storeys, a basement, and two large modern dormers. The roof is covered with Welsh slate and has a well-crafted moulded dentil eaves cornice. The building has five windows with segmental reveals, hung sashes, and glazing bars. The central door consists of eight fielded panels and is set within an attractive moulded wood doorcase that includes panelled reveals, an ornamental fanlight, and an open pediment supported by brackets and reeded pilasters. There are stacks at the gable ends. No 12 is part of a group that includes Nos 12, 14, 15, and a warehouse occupied by G W Plowman and Son and Holland House.
