Description
No. 11 Market Place is an early 20th-century building that stands three storeys tall, constructed in ashlar stone with a hipped tile roof featuring one gabled dormer. The building showcases a plain Georgian style, highlighted by a moulded eaves cornice. It has two windows with moulded stone surrounds. On the first floor, there is a canted shallow bay with three lights and a dentil cornice. The ground floor features a six-panel door flanked by two shop windows, which have been partly blocked recently. Above the door, there is an entablature and cornice supported by consoles that hold up the cornice beneath the first-floor bay. This building is included as part of an important visual group, which also consists of Nos. 7-12 (consecutive), the Parish Church of St Denys, the Vicarage, the Lock-up, and the War Memorial.
