Description
Number 12 Market Place is a mid-19th century building that stands three storeys tall, constructed from ashlar stone with rusticated quoins and a small plinth. It features a modillion eaves cornice and stone stacks at the gable ends. The façade includes four windows set in moulded stone frames; the ground floor windows have keystones, while the top floor windows are adorned with cambered arches and keystones that are part of the modillion cornice. A band between the storeys connects to the keystones of the ground floor windows and the cornice above the door. The entrance features a six-panel door within a moulded stone doorcase that has a cornice and a fanlight, along with foot scrapers. This building is part of a group that includes Nos 7 to 12, the Parish Church of St Denys, the Vicarage, the Lock-up, and the War Memorial.
