Description
Top Lodge, the lodge to Harmston Hall, is a gate lodge built in the mid 19th century. It is constructed of ashlar stone and features a shallow slate hipped roof in the Italianate style. The entrance front includes a Venetian doorway with a central panelled door topped by a semi-circular fanlight, flanked by small sash windows. This entrance is framed by four Ionic pilasters that support an entablature, which extends over the central semi-circular doorway. Above the entrance, there is a single sash window with a segmental pediment. The other windows in the building are also sash windows with plain surrounds.
