Description
This is a Methodist chapel built in 1837, with later alterations in the 19th century. It is constructed of red brick in English garden wall bond of three, with a pantiled roof and some yellow brick dressings. The chapel is a single storey building with a four-bay front featuring a dentillated eaves course. The entrance is an off-centre four-panelled door with a stained and bordered overlight above it. To the left of the door is a single glazing bar sash window, while to the right are a pair of glazing bar sashes, along with a wrought iron lantern bracket. On the right gable, there is a rectangular ashlar datestone inscribed with the year 1837. The rear wall has three additional glazing bar sashes, although the openings have been reduced in size. Inside, the chapel retains matchboard panelling on the walls, deal benches, and a panelled preacher's desk, along with a stick baluster staircase and a turned knopped newel.
