Description
Ellis's Mill is a tower mill located on Mill Road in Lincoln, dated 1798 and restored between 1977 and 1980. The mill is constructed of tarred brick and features an ogee domed wooden cap with a finial. It stands on a concrete plinth and has cogged eaves, a fantail, and four patent sails. The openings of the mill have segmental heads. The structure is a battered round tower with three stages, featuring a pair of doors on the east and west sides, and a two-light sliding sash window on each floor on the north and south sides. The interior contains machinery that has been assembled from various windmills. Ellis's Mill is the last surviving mill on Lincoln Edge and is complete and in use.
