Description

The war memorial, located 5 metres east of the Church of St Benedict, was built in 1922 by Montague Hall. It is designed in the Gothic Revival style and constructed from ashlar stone. The memorial features a moulded plinth with a quatrefoil band and an octagonal base supported by crocketed gabled diagonal buttresses, which have names inscribed on their faces. Above this, there is a panelled octagonal shaft with a moulded stepped base, culminating in a gabled tabernacle topped with a crucifix.
