Description
No. 195 High Street is a house that has been converted into a shop. It dates back to around 1500 and has undergone alterations in the 18th and 19th centuries, with a refronting that occurred around 1900. The building features coursed rubble and brick construction, with stone dressings and a combination of gabled and hipped slate roofs, including a gable stack. Notable architectural details include a first-floor band, dentilled eaves, a coped gable, and a parapet. There are two shopfronts beneath a common fascia, which is from the late 20th century. Above the shopfronts, there are three segment-headed plain sash windows. Inside, there is a section of exposed rubble wall and a double purlin principal rafter roof that includes collars and two inserted props.
