Description

This is a fragment of an Eleanor cross, dating from around 1290, commissioned by Edward I. It was originally located at Cross O'Cliff Hill and was moved to its current position, 5 metres east of the Governor's house, around 1980. The fragment is made of ashlar and features part of a figure and drapery, standing approximately 1 metre high, set on a rubble stone base.
