Description

The statue of George III is located 30 meters south of the north wall of Lincoln Castle. It was created in 1810, designed by Mrs. Coade and modeled by Joseph Panzetta for the Earl of Buckingham. This incomplete statue is made of Coade stone and is larger than life size. Originally, it was placed on Dunston Pillar in 1810 to replace a lantern. During World War II, the statue was moved and the height of the pillar was reduced due to concerns about low-flying aircraft.
