Description

BINBROOK BINBROOK WALK TF 29 SW 2/2 Barn at Binbrook Walk Farm G.V. II

Barn with granary over and beast houses. Late C18 partly rebuilt C20. Red brick, pantile roof having raised brick coped gables with kneelers. Barn with pent open sided beast houses. 2 storey with central double planked doors under segmental arched head. The pent beast houses have 8 bays divided by timber posts resting on stone stylobates and carved wooden kneelers to wall plate. The open stalls have been in part walled or planked later. The barn roof is of pegged softwood clasped purlin construction with massive ties. Some reconstruction was necessary on the left hand far side of the barn following damage by Enemy Action during World War II.
