Description

The coach house and pump at Scallows Hall date from 1780, with early 19th century and 20th century alterations. It is constructed of colour washed red brick with stucco dressings and features hipped pantile roofs with stone dressings and a single wall stack. The building is two storeys high, with a single bay central block flanked by slightly recessed single storey blocks of three and four bays. The central block has modern garage doors, a planked door with a plain overlight to the left, and single glazing bar casements. To the right, there are two planked doors with overlights and two similar windows. The first floor of the central block features a single glazing bar casement. All windows have flat stucco lintels and quoined stucco surrounds around the doors. To the left of the central block is a cast iron pump made by I. Appleby & Co. from Derbyshire. At the rear, there is an external flight of stone steps leading to the first floor of the central bay.
