Description

The coach house and associated walls form part of Wyddial Hall, dating back to the 18th century with later 19th-century additions. The building has been converted into a house in the 1970s. It is constructed of red brick, with a steep hipped slate roof. The long, E-shaped block faces north and is two storeys high, with a symmetrical central section three windows wide, flanked by single-story wings linked by ranges. The windows are round-headed sashes, with a pattern of 1:4:3:4:1 on the north front, and small rectangular two-light casement windows to the upper floor of the central block; the central ground-floor opening has been converted into a doorway. The south front features sash windows with 8/8 panes on each floor of the central block, and gable end chimneys. A tall red brick boundary wall, in English bond, runs along the south side, with a lower 19th-century brick wall in a redder hue, featuring a large central round-arched gateway with raking brick coping and stone balls at the base and apex. An openwork decorative iron gate is present. A pilaster marks a change in wall height, and two stone obelisks are set on the eastern section of the wall.
