Description

Brick Cottage is an early 18th-century cottage situated on the west side of Fen Lane, East Keal. The building is constructed of red brick in a Flemish bond pattern. It has a pantile roof with brick coped and tumbled gables, and a central axial brick stack. The cottage is single-storey with attics, and has a three-bay front. A corbelled-out eaves band runs along the front. The central entrance features a planked door, flanked by single horizontal sliding sash windows set within brick segmental arches. Two flat dormers are set into the roof, each with a lead roof and a two-light sliding sash window; one of these windows has glazing bars. A rear lean-to outshut is also present.
