Description

Orchard Cottage is a mid-18th century cottage constructed of Flemish bond brickwork, with a triple Roman tile roof, coped brick verges, and end brick stacks. The symmetrical frontage has a projecting brick band at the first floor level. The cottage is two storeys high and has three bays. It features 3-light casements with horizontal glazing bars, with brick voussoirs to the ground-floor openings. A central door opening now contains 20th-century metal French windows, and the door opening is flanked by brick buttresses. Above the door opening is a pentice with a triple Roman tile roof supported by shaped wooden brackets.
