Description
Ivy House is a house built around 1702, with later alterations in the late 18th century. It features a red brick structure with stucco dressings and a pantile roof, which has raised gables—one with stone coping and the other with brick coping—along with two gable stacks. The building is designed in an L-shape and has three storeys with a three-bay front.
The facade includes a crude rendered band at the second floor and a dentillated eaves board. The entrance is an off-centre half-glazed panelled door, framed by wood panelled reveals and an eared and pedimented surround. To the right of the door are two glazing bar sash windows, which have lattice grills on their lower parts. The first floor features three similar sash windows, while the second floor has three shorter windows. All windows are topped with cambered brick heads and stucco key blocks. Notably, between the second and third windows on the first floor, there is a Fire Insurance plaque. Additionally, on the right gable, the capped-off base of an early 18th-century projecting stack is visible, along with the contemporary tumbled gable.
