Description
The stable block to Candelsby Hall is a carriage house and stables built in the late 18th century. It is constructed of red brick and features a hipped pantile roof with brick dentillated eaves. The building has a two-storey central bay flanked by single-storey, two-bay ranges. The central entrance consists of double planked doors set beneath a wide elliptical brick arch with ashlar imposts. Above this, there is a rectangular window with latticed sidelights, which is framed by a recessed surround that includes a cill supported by brick brackets and a plain hood. On the left side, there are planked double doors, followed by a semi-circular planked doorway in an added bay. On the right side, there is a fixed glazing bar light in a recessed surround, and beyond that, a semi-circular headed planked doorway also in a recessed surround. This building is included in the listing for its group value.
