Description
The Hall and Old Hall is a small country house that has been converted into two houses. It dates from the late 17th century, with a mid-18th century addition, and underwent raising and alterations in the late 18th century, along with minor changes in the 20th century. The building is constructed of red brick with ashlar dressings and features hipped and gabled slate roofs with two ridge stacks, forming an L-plan layout.
The two-storey rear range consists of three bays, with the lower part built in 17th-century brickwork and the upper part raised in the mid-18th century. There is an off-centre 20th-century doorway with a semi-circular head. To the left of this doorway are two Venetian glazing bar windows. On the first floor, there are three semi-circular headed glazing bar sash windows.
To the right is a three-storey, three-bay mid-18th century range that has a hipped roof and a first-floor band. The central entrance features an eight-panelled door, which is sheltered by a 20th-century timber porch with a hipped slate roof, flanked by single glazing bar sashes. The first floor has three similar windows, while the second floor contains three smaller sash windows. All windows are adorned with splayed brick heads and raised painted ashlar keyblocks.
