Description

Greenways is a former rectory, now a house, built in 1834 with minor alterations from the 20th century. The building is constructed of painted brick and features a hipped concrete tiled roof with two tall ridge stacks. It has an L-shaped plan and is two storeys high with a three-bay front. The design includes overhanging eaves, a plinth, a first-floor band, and a corbelled cornice. The central bay is slightly advanced and has a pediment.

The entrance features 20th-century double glazed doors with an overlight, set within a projecting porch that has a moulded parapet and a small central pediment with scrolls on either side. The outer doorway is semi-circular headed with large imposts and is flanked by tall rectangular recesses. On either side of the porch are single semi-circular recesses containing semi-circular headed glazing bar sashes. The first floor has three glazing bar sashes.

In the central pediment, there is a rectangular datestone with the year 1834 in raised letters, along with indecipherable initials. To the left of the main building, at right angles, is a lower two-storey, three-bay range that features a very tall chimney. The ground floor of this range has two semi-circular headed niches, one of which has a fanlight, separated by a planked opening, and to the left, there are double doors. The first floor contains three glazing bar sashes with cambered brick heads.
