Description
Dial Cottage is a building that originated as two cottages in the early 18th century and was later converted into a single cottage in the early 20th century. It features a colourwashed mud and stud construction with a pantile roof over thatch, which has overhanging, boarded eaves and a single ridge stack. The cottage is single storey with a garret and has a five-bay front, including a slightly projecting bay on the right. On the left side, there is a two-light casement window, followed by a single two-light sliding sash window. To the left, there is a narrow single fixed light window with glazing bars. There is also an early 20th-century lean-to extension with a doorway on the west return. Inside, the timber frame is completely exposed, and the staggered purlin roof remains intact.
