Description

Abbey Farmhouse is a house dating from the early 19th century, with some 20th-century alterations. It is built of rendered and colourwashed brick and features a hipped slate roof with two hip stacks and a single ridge stack at the rear, along with decorated eaves. The building has a square plan with a north-east wing and stands two storeys high.

The front has three bays, with the central bay projecting slightly. The central doorway is adorned with a traceried fanlight and a partially glazed door, set within a 20th-century neo-classical porch designed by Sir Albert Richardson. This porch has slender flanking columns with glazed re-entrant corners and central glazing bar doors. The doorway is flanked by single glazing bar sash windows that have moulded cornices on brackets. Above, there are three glazing bar sashes with bracketed blind hoods. Additionally, there is an ornate conservatory on the south side.
