Description

Baines Flour Mill is a water-powered flour mill built around 1800. It is constructed of red brick and features hipped pantile roofs with dentilated brick eaves. The mill is three stories high. The main southeast front has an off-centre segment-headed doorway with a plank door, and to the left, there is a boarded opening. Above this, to the left, is a single loft door, and to the right, there are three segment-headed boarded openings. Higher up, there are four openings, one of which is blocked, and the other three are boarded. The northeast front includes a single doorway to the right, above which is a central loft door, and above that, there is another central loft door flanked by single boarded openings. To the left, there is a two-storey office range with an off-centre door flanked by single boarded windows, and above this range, there are two segment-headed boarded windows. Inside, the mill contains a broad wood and iron water wheel.
