Description
Nos 17 and 18 Market Place, which also includes No 1 Queen Street, have their origins in the late 17th century. The building stands three storeys tall, with No 17 on the left featuring a hipped roof covered with modern pantiles. It has large 19th-century eaves brackets and is rendered with rusticated quoins. There are three windows with wooden cases and no glazing bars, and two windows on the first floor are set in moulded architraves with a cornice. No 18 has a moulded wooden eaves cornice and three windows with wooden cases that have hung sashes and glazing bars. Additionally, there is a canted 18th-century oriel window with three lights, also featuring hung sashes and glazing bars. The exterior is roughly rendered, and the building currently houses modern shops. Nos 17 to 25 Market Place form a group.
