Description
No. 47 High Street is a house, now used as offices, dating from around 1740 with minor alterations from the 19th century. The building is constructed of red brick and features an old plain tiled roof, with brick coped gables and stacks.
The exterior consists of three storeys with attics and a five-bay front, characterized by brick bands at each storey and a plain wooden eaves cornice. The central doorway is adorned with an 18th-century pedimented and dentilled cornice, rounded pilasters, and moulded capitals shaped like curved brackets. It has a six-panelled door with a two-pane overlight, flanked by pairs of plain sash windows. The first floor has five similar sash windows, while the second floor features five smaller sash windows, all with brick segmental heads. There are also three small gabled dormers with glazing bar sashes.
Inside, the building retains some panelled doors.
