Description
36 and 38 High Street are a pair of houses that have been converted into a shop and store. They date from the early 18th century and late 18th century, with alterations made in the 19th and 20th centuries.
The exterior of No. 38 features a rendered, two-storey, two-bay front with a concrete tiled roof behind a parapet. It has one coped gable and a reduced stack. The 19th-century shop front includes a central half-glazed door, shop windows, pilasters, fluted brackets, and an angled fascia. This shop front was altered and extended in the 20th century to cover No. 36. On the first floor, there are two plain sashes with architraves.
No. 36 is constructed of painted brick and has a hipped pantile roof. It is three storeys high and features two plain sashes with segmental heads on each floor. The interior has not been inspected.
