Description
Stanhope Cottage is a late 18th-century cottage located on the south side of Main Road in Wigtoft. It is timber framed with red brick facing in an English garden wall bond pattern of three. The roof is covered with pantiles, and a central brick stack is rendered. The cottage follows a lobby entry plan and has a single storey plus a garret. The front has three bays, with a central planked door flanked by two-light glazing bar sashes, one fixed and one sliding. All window and door openings have brick segmental heads. A single-storey service wing extends to the rear. Some internal evidence of the original timber frame survives.
