Description
Easthorpe Court is an 18th-century farmhouse that was refronted and largely rebuilt in 1804, with some minor alterations in the 20th century. The building is constructed of rendered brick and features a Welsh slate roof with stone-coped gables and two rendered gable stacks. It has an L-shaped plan and is two storeys high with a three-bay front. The facade includes a first-floor band and a moulded wooden cornice at the parapet. The central bay is canted and advanced, featuring a central 20th-century door with a traceried overlight, flanked by single fixed glazing bar lights with pointed Gothick heads. On either side of the central bay are single canted bay windows with moulded cornices, each containing three glazing bar sashes. The first floor has the central canted bay supported on slender cast iron columns, with a moulded cornice and a single glazing bar sash, flanked by similar windows. Additionally, on the right side, there is a Gothick glazing bar sash with a segmental head and keystone. According to White's Directory of 1856, Easthorpe Court was the ancient seat of the Howson family and was rebuilt as a farmhouse in 1804.
