Description
No. 17 Tower Road is a house, now divided into flats, dating from the mid-18th century with 19th and 20th-century alterations. It is constructed of red and brown brick, topped with a clay pantile roof and featuring a single square ridge stack with a band.
The exterior consists of two storeys plus a garret, with a three-bay front that includes first-floor and brick eaves bands. The entrance is an off-centre 19th-century panelled door with an overlight, framed by a plain pilastered surround and topped with a flat lead hood. To the left of the door is a margin light sash window, with a smaller similar sash above it at the mezzanine level. To the right, there is a tripartite plain sash window. The first floor features three margin light sashes. Additionally, there is a single-storey, two-bay 19th-century addition to the right, which includes a margin light sash and a 20th-century door. The original roof structure is retained at the right-hand end. The interior has not been inspected.
