Description
Martha's Vineyard is a public house dating from the 18th century, with alterations made in the early 19th century. The building features a rendered exterior and a pantile roof with brick coped gables. It is two storeys tall, plus attics, and has a three-bay front with a moulded wooden eaves cornice. The entrance is an off-centre, six-panelled door with a bordered overlight, set in a fluted doorcase that has roundels at the corners and a cornice decorated with a keystone featuring fruit and flowers. To the left of the door are a pair of glazing bar sashes, and to the right is a single glazing bar sash. On the first floor, there are three tripartite glazing bar sashes. The roof includes a small leaded dormer. A plaque on the site commemorates the birthplace of John Foxe. The interior has not been inspected.
