Description
No. 55 Mill Street is a cottage dating from the 17th to 18th century. It is constructed of painted brick and part timber framing, topped with a thatched roof featuring a central ridge and stacks at the right end. The building is 1½ storeys high and has two 2-light casement windows and one 1-light window. There is a door located in an extension with a plain tile roof to the left. Inside the left gable, a roof truss is visible. The right end features a 2-light casement window on both floors and a door with a simple porch. At the rear, four panels of timber framing can be seen, along with a 3-light window, a 2-light window, and a door. The interior includes ceiling beams, two inglenooks, and massive purlins supporting a single purlin roof.
